CNN Tea Party Debate Crowd Eschews Cake, Says Uninsured Should Eat Death Instead

Or maybe they're offering "death cake?" Mmm. Death Cake.*There was a lot of craziness going on in the latest GOP debate, hosted by CNN and the Tea Party, most of it involving the various candidates playing wack-a-mole with Texas Gov. Rick Perry. But the most startling moment was during a hypothetical question posed by Wolf Blitzer about a 30-something, once healthy uninsured guy who didn't buy insurance when he could afford it, but got really sick and might die. Should we should let him die? While Ron Paul was trying to give his "go to a church for help if you're uninsured and dying of an illness answer" (more on that later), the crowd got a little restless and cheered for letting the dude die.

Tea Party Guy Allen West Threatens to Leave CBC Over Anti-Tea Party Rhetoric

The only Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Allen West of Florida, is threatening to leave the caucus because of their adoption of the "Fight crazy with crazy" stance against the Tea Party. The same Tea Party that helped West get elected. Things can't be all that comfortable in the CBC for West, largely because the CBC is dominated by black Democrats who think he's a jerk. He goes on TV accusing them of being plantation overseers, then he tells his unemployed brother to go see those DNC "slave catchers" for help. So Rep. Maxine Waters, the Grand Marshall in the "fight crazy with crazy" brigade, slapped West down with much glee. It was awesome. We all loved it. Except West. Who now wants Waters and other CBC members to stop saying mean things about the various racist factions within the Tea Party. Waters, who most recently said "the Tea Party can go straight to hell," probably won't mourn the loss of West if he leaves. In fact, she'll probably name herself Grand Marshall of "Don't let the doorknob hit you where the Lord split you: Ding Dong, The West Has Left The CBC" party during the convention this month in D.C. That's going to be a great party. Buy your tickets now. (CBS News)

I Feel Like I've Been Writing A Lot About Maxine Waters Lately

When one thing happens that means there's usually nothing to see here. Two things? A coincidence. But when I was looking at my third "Hey, world! Did you hear that thing Rep. Maxine Waters of California said!" that's a trend, buddy. Over the weekend, Rep. Waters told a crowd that they needed to be fearless in their defense of issues and ideas they hold dear. That they should never allow themselves to be cowed or intimidated. In fact, she said she was afraid of no one, not even the Tea Party, then promptly shouted that "the tea party can go straight to hell."

Racist, Sexist YouTube Campaign Ad Shouts "Give Us Yo Cash, Bitch"

Outrage. I only have so much of it left!

Therefore, this online campaign produced by the Turn Right USA PAC in support of Tea Party Republican Craig Huey is only getting a heavy sigh and a befuddled stare out of me. This ad is an attack on Democrat and Los Angeles Councilwoman Janice Hahn. Whatever "point" the creators had initially with the ad is lost in the shouts of "Give us yo cash, bitch" while a stripper bends over and shakes her butt with dollars stuck into her booty shorts. It was pretty depressing. Especially with ol' Skids and Mudflap* there, raping along like this crap was cool. (The song was written with the help of fake 2 Live Crew booty bass group, Splack Pack.)

THIS IS NOT SERIOUS AT ALL!

Allen West First Republican In CBC Since 1996

And he's terrifying, but more on that in a second.

Allen West is one of two black Republicans who joined Congress after wins in November. He recently announced he's joining the Congressional Black Caucus which hasn't had a Republican member since 1996 when Gary Franks of Connecticut was part of the caucus. And West's membership should be interesting considering he is certifiable, and not in that, "We politely disagree way," but in a, "He believes in violent voter suppression and almost killed a guy" kind of way.

Some People Troll the Internet, Palins Troll the World

Do you watch Dancing With the Stars? I don't. But whatever. Let's talk about it. Allegedly, some pro-Tea Party folks have gamed the voting system to keep Sarah Palin's lead-footed daughter in the hunt and now Bristol Palin is going on to the finals against Jennifer Grey, aka the woman I didn't recognize anymore post-Dirty Dancing because she got a nose job and thus killed her career (a cautionary tale).

Ginni Thomas Leaves Tea Party Policy Clearinghouse

After channelling the 90s and reminding everyone of how gross that testimony against Clarence Thomas was during his Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Thomas' wife, Virginia "Ginni" Thomas is stepping down from her lead role with the grass roots conservative group she founded in May, Liberty Central.

It's Election Day!

Image via DCUniverse on Twitter, h/t Washington PostPrimary dates are going down in seven states today and the city of Washington, D.C.'s Democratic primary for mayor (which pretty much decides who's mayor) is happening today in the District. It's judgment day for embattled Mayor Adrian Fenty, who is trialing his rival, D.C. City Council member Vince Gray. Fenty donned a Redskins' No. 5, Donovan McNabb, jersey (with his name on it, of course, not Donovan's) to get some last minute goodwill on Monday, while politicking at an intersection in the city's northwest quadrant. Never mind. My friend Savvy Broad still plans on putting on her prettiest dress when she marches to the polls today to throw some shade on Fenty supporters as she casts her vote for Gray out of pure spite and hatred.
