The Snob Talks Latina Vote, Talkin' to Teens 'Bout Sex & Magic Mike on NPR

The cast of "Magic Penis" ... I mean, "Mike." Yeah ... Mike. The Snob returned to NPR's Tell Me More program Wednesday to talk about possible White House "pandering" to the Latina mommy vote. (Are Latinas the new Soccer Moms, aka Futubol Mommies?) As part of the Beauty Shop segment with guest host Maria Hinosoja, we also discussed Kris Jenner recently admitting that when her famous daughter Kim Kardashian was a teen she put her on birth control and briefly discussed all the hype surrounding the bro-tastic, but "ribbed for her pleasure" hit stripper melodrama "Magic Mike."

Check out the audio after the jump.

theGrio: Book Publisher Karen Hunter Is "Unapologetically Black"

Karen Hunter is the woman behind Karen Hunter Publishing. For theGrio this week I penned an article on Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author, professor and book publisher Karen Hunter. Hunter (who is a quote machine) talks about everything from handling the fall-out surrounding Kris Jenner's memoir -- which came out around the same time as the announcement of her daughter Kim Kardashian's divorce -- to the time she said on MSNBC that Mitt Romney wanted to be president of "Caucasia-stan."

Calling herself "unapolegtically black," Hunter never once hold's her tongue as she talks about starting her own business will holding on to her fighter's spirit, always speaking truth to power.

Clutch Magazine: So Your Friend Has Decided to Date Kim Kardashian

KIM KARDASHIAN! Now that I have your attention -- KANYE WEST! Now that I have your outrage, here's a a snippet from a story I wrote Friday for Clutch Magazine Online about how fame messes with your head and how what looks like a terrible idea to us, makes perfect sense for train wreck romance lovers. I managed to work in references to the literary works of F. Scott Fitzgerald AND ... Paris Hilton.

The Snob On NPR Talking Student Loans, Marriage and Kim Kardashian's Divorce

The Snob returned to NPR's "Tell Me More" Tuesday to chit chat about President Obama's student loan pay down plan, Kim Kardashian's "soap opera" love life, the gender complexities of modern love and marriage, and how the "scarcity model" (re: EVERYBODY MARRIAGE PANIC!) affects women views of relationships and each other. Michel Martin was out Tuesday, so Allison Keyes guest hosted our rousing conversation where I'm pretty sure my eyes rolled out of my head while talking about Kim Kardashian's divorce, as always. I'm a habitual eye roll offender, which is probably a good 60 percent for why I keep getting invited back to the show. Joining me on the show were the awesome Latoya Peterson of Racialicious, NPR Digital News Editor Tanya Ballard Brown and Jezebel Editor-in-Chief Jessica Coen.

Listen to the show after the jump.

The Snob On NPR, Talking DSK, Kim Kardashian and Zoe Saldana's 'Angelina Jolie' Moment

The Snob was on NPR's Tell Me More with Michel Martin Tuesday, participating in the Beauty Shop roundtable segment. Joined by Jezebel.com Editor-in-Chief, Jessica Coen, blogger Viviana Hutardo of The Wise Latina Club, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and now University of Georgia journalism visiting professor Cynthia Tucker, we talked about the charges being dismissed in the sexual assault case involving former IMF chairman Dominique Strauss-Kahn; the over-the-top tackiness of reality TV star Kim Kardashian's wedding to that NBA guy no one's ever heard of until now, Kris Humphries; and black Latina actress Zoe Saldana's turn to go all Angelina Jolie and get herself some lady-tinged revenge in her new film, "Colombiana."

The Hamburgler: When Lame Advertising Events Happen to Pseudo (and Some Real) Celebrities

It was the 40th birthday of McDonald's "Big Mac" sandwich on July 27 in Malibu, Calif. I think Big Macs taste gross. (But I'm a burger Snob. Nothing tops a Double-Double from In-And-Out. I miss those dearly.) But ain't no party like a product placement party because all the celebrities were paid to be there!

Make that money, child, but don't let the money make you!

I'm not feeling my girl Serena's get up, but we spare regularly over what she deems fit to wear outside. Sanaa Lathan looks lovely, although that dress could double as a shirt.

Blu Cantrell, do you still work for a living? I loved "Hit 'Em Up Style" as much as the next jilted ex-girlfriend, but dude, seriously, ... what do you do to keep the lights on? That said, you look exhausted, but sort of pretty. And I like the top/scarf combo.

I get why Mickey D's would want Common (he's hot right now) but Ian Ziering from "90210?" Your choices intrigue me, McDonald's.

And now for the bargain bin of Robertson Blvd.: Celebrity Reality TV show stars. Kim Kardashian (dressed in some odd, button-less khaki romper and beige bikini top -- better to show off the boobage I gather.), is featured in these following pictures with her sister Khloe and later with Common, Serena Williams and singer Ne-Yo.

Ne-Yo serenades a burger.

And now everyone gather around the product placement and say, "Cheese!"
