There's no fail like a minister fail, and that's what recently happened in Mississippi when a white minister decided to not marry a black couple at his church because a few members complained and said they'd come for his job. In a breath-taking case of CYA, Rev. Stan Weatherford chose his job over doing the right thing and that's what lead to me writing about it for Clutch Magazine Tuesday.

You know what's more awesome than over-the-top choreography for couples dances at weddings? Choreographing a whole bunch of already married folks to bust a move to some classic Babyface at churrrrch. Some times being extra is so adorable. Look at your dad go! Your dad's got moves! (H/T Black and Married With Kids)
This story actually ran Tuesday when Unconventional Wisdom normally runs, but due to the volume of stories related to the one million visitor milestone I was concerned it got lost in the shuffle. Here it is again, in case you missed it.

I remember sitting in history class as a kid learning about the Civil Rights Movement. It angered me to learn how much more brutal racism was during the 1960s in America. But as a young black Christian, it also made me proud to learn about the black church’s vital role in the movement.
Now I’m just disappointed.
