On Tuesday afternoon rebels invaded Muammar Gaddafi’s compound, extracting many strange and opulent artifacts that seemed to perfectly symbolize a peculiar dictator (and in some cases donning golden military caps for interviews with Western media.) But one of the strangest items found was a photo album containing images of former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.
Well, former Secretary of State Condi Rice is kind of adorable in that perky, no nonsense, double-good, minister's daughter kind of way. (Mediaite, MSNBC)

Why is the media making it seem as if this man's crush on Condi is some sort of perversion? A black woman can't be the object of someone's affection?

it's not that it's funny because it's Condi or Whitney, but Moammar and Bin Laden were such 'good Muslims', and here they had these 'unpure' thoughts about these non-Muslim women, who just happen to be Black and Beautiful.

That's the kind of man she attracts? Authoritarian men? But of course, Bush was that kind of man, too.
Strange. But not so strange that Arab guys like bin Laden and Khadafy would be attracted to women that that their culture fears and hates. Khadafy even wrote a pamphlet or two about how Libyans should stay the hell away from Africans and African women in particular.
But there ya go...you're attracted to what you cannot stand.

There are a LOT of information about blacks that have been surpressed--particularly black women... That cleopatra was in fact half black was one of the bigger pretences of history...and it's still being ignored. Another MAJOR bulk of information being ignored is five former Presidents were said to have black ancestry--warren harding, abraham lincoln, andrew jackson, etc.
Sorry, Guest, but your comments are immaterial regarding what has been suppressed about Khadafy's (and the Libyans) love-hate relationship with Africans and blacks (and in this case with the once-powerful, pant-suited Condi Rice).
Unfortunately, those African guest workers and paid mercenaries are now catching hell from the winning side in this civil war. The Libyans are being egged on by some reactionary, racist element that claims that the African guests oppressed Libyans in Khadafy's name. As a result, Africans are being killed and maimed in revenge.
This racist, simplistic thinking doesn't allow for the fact that Khadafy may have threatened the Africans with death or expulsion if they did not comply. The leaders in their respective countries allied with Khadafy may have also played a role in pressing their countrymen comply, since Khadafy was sending them much needed aid and money. In short, the African guest workers were just as much victims of the Khadafy regime as the Libyans.
But getting back to Condi. I just wonder what kind of vibe she's emitting to attract men of the Dark Side of the Force. I mean, she likes football. She plays the piano. She likes to wear Ferragamos. Such a sweet woman...

So what? The French dig African Americans, too. But they cannot stand their own black populations, from Francophone and sometimes Muslim nations they colonized. What does that say?
Khadafy forged these questionable relationships for his own self and political aggrandizement. I've seen Farrakhan get up on his high horse regarding how Khadafy is being treated; and that's because he's been given a few million from this guy, practicing Muslim or not.
Not to say that NATO and our hands are clean on this issue, but I call BS on anyone who thinks Khadafy should stay in power, or that his laughable predilection for Condi Rice or friendship with Farrakhan means anything significant or should be excused.
Africans--and dark-skinned people in particular--are catching hell all over. That includes here in the U.S as well as in Libya. That's my point.
I find it strange how someone can claim that "Dark-skinned people are being mistreated everywhere", and then in the same breath find it "Laughable" that a man can actually have a crush on a Black woman.
Translation, who she really cares about is dark-skinned Black MALES, who last time I checked are hardly getting mistreated anywhere. Meanwhile dark-skinned Black women are being destroyed every where you go.
I think that people seizing on Khadafy's attraction towards Condi Rice are just as laughable. There is nothing wrong with someone having a crush or attraction towards Rice. What is laughable to me is the vision of Khadafy wooing the former Secretary of State, and getting his swerve on. He just doesn't fit the bill about Condi, and what I'm sure Khadafy had in mind was more lust and power dynamics than love. It seems to me more like a Mideast version of plantation doings.
It seems that authoritarian males are more attracted to Condoleezza Rice. Former President Bush II, for example, fills that bill. We all know about the rumors about how close these two were, and at one point, it was National Enquirer fodder, with Laura Bush readying divorce papers.
Your handle on translating what I was saying leaves much to be desired. If anything, dark-skinned people are still catching hell. I will agree that dark-skinned women can be destroyed more readily as well. Condi Rice? Well, she's not being destroyed by this episode. Far from it. Especially since Darth Cheney published a few scurrilous attacks on her State Department leadership.
You just can't do anything about who you're drawn too, huh? LOL.
